Mini Ascent Rate Alarm (MARA)

MARA® (Miniature Ascent Rate Alarm) is a patent-protected diving accessory designed to make diving safer.

MARA assists divers in knowing exactly how fast they are ascending to the surface. This is important to prevent decompression sickness (known as the bends) or gas embolism (burst lung syndrome).

This unique diving safety device attaches easily to any diving mask. It gives the diver an audible indication of how fast they are ascending to the surface.

MARA contains superior electronics and a high end industrial pressure sensor. It detects changes in water pressure and analyzes it against time and electronic dive tables. If MARA detects the diver ascending at a rate faster than 30 feet or 10 metres/minute, it sends an alarm warning to slow down. It even provides a Safety Stop at 15 feet or 5 metres.

MARA comes with a 1 year warranty. This sealed unit is designed to last for approximately 5 years or 1000 dive hours before it needs to be completely replaced. MARA is battery operated and only activated under water. The battery is non-replaceable and customers may return their MARA to the manufacturer for recycling.
